The Narcissist in Your Life Podcast is hosted by Linda Martinez-Lewi, Ph.D., clinical expert on the narcissistic personality, psychotherapist and author. I offer in-depth analysis, strategies and practices for those psychologically and emotionally harmed and abused by toxic, predatory narcissistic personalities through my books: Recovering and Healing After the Narcissist and Freeing Yourself from the Narcissist in Your Life, international telephone consultations and global podcasts. I put the emphasis on helping individuals to access the calming, restorative parts of the parasympathetic body/mind systems that lead to healing, recovery, personal transformation and the evolution of your true, authentic self and your unique creative gifts.

Empaths are extraordinary individuals. They live in a current world filled with Me, Me, Me people who are either full blown grandiose overt narcissists or sneaky, secret covert narcissists.

This is a coarse loud era of short attention spans, aggressive styles, winners take all, endless escapism, shallowness and mindlessness.

There are exceptions of course and empaths are among them. We are very grateful for them.

Empaths from the beginning as very young kids were very different. This child reacted to his/her external and internal environment in a highly sensitive manner. Loud noises disturbed them, aggressive people were a source of anxiety and disrupted them easily. Being in crowded places is another factor for empaths, too much stimuli of any kind causes anxiety and some disorientation.

The young empath in the family household is often misunderstood and is considered to be strange, odd, eccentric.

Empaths are human treasures who are highly intuitive, aware of the needs of others, psychologically and emotionally generous, compassionate.

Empaths must lead their lives in a way that works for them. Each empath creates a routine and practice.

Here are some guidelines:

1. Rest, restoration, sleep

2  Calming the nervous system.

3. Drawing solid boundaries, including getting aggressive individuals out of your daily routine.

4. Relaxing breathing, gentle yoga poses

5. Creativity your way - writing, drawing, painting, photography

6. Beautiful music

7. Movement - Dance, Walking, Stretching
