Listening to music is restorative and healing. Quoting from my book: Recovering and Healing After the Narcissist: "Music resounds through the body and mind, awakening and expanding our human possibilities. Music takes us away from distracting conscious thoughts and into a sensory world of relaxation and freedom. Music urges our bodies to move, sway, swing and glide. It enlivens us....Music transports us to other worlds. Our attitudes shift, our spirits lighten, we shed our emotional burdens. Music encompasses our whole body, mind, senses and emotions. Immersing ourselves in music, becoming a part of it and fusing with its magic opens up our spontaneity...Music draws us into its magic."
Great film music of composer John Barry: Dances with Wolves, Out of Africa, Frances, Chaplin, The Scarlet Letter. Film music of great composer: Maurice Jarre; A Passage to India, Lawrence of Arabia, Dr. Zhivago. This music is restorative and transformative when you go inside and experience its beauty.
