I want to speak with you about the meaning of childhood trauma and how to heal. Childhood trauma has a depth and global quality. It takes over the mind, body and spirit. 

Childhood trauma is gut-wrenching, intolerable and overwhelming. It has a never-ending quality. You feel doomed, lost, expendable, helpless and hopeless. 

Dr. Van der Kolk quote: "In my practice I begin the process by helping my patients to first notice and then describe the feelings in their bodies, the physical sensations beneath the emotions...I help them become aware of their breath, their gestures and movements."

The practice of restorative basic yoga poses using the breath to calm the nervous system and to remain I the present moment is the beginning of the healing process. 

Another aspect to healing from trauma is finding individual we can trust. 

Listening to your special calming, inspiring music is a parasympathetic experience that is a significant part of your healing from childhood trauma.
